Default T2T4 trans. in 4th gen?

I'm in the market for a new transmission now and i'm wanting to upgrade to a lsd.

I know alot of people go with the M2B4 but seeing as the T2T4 sells for a little less with almost the same gear ratios just wondering if their was any reason why I haven't ever seen one in a 4th gen.

Even though it came from the accord will it not fit?

It will fit fine. T2T4 used to be harder to find, but now that they are getting older, both the t2t4 and the f20b will be popping up all over.

City gas mileage could be affected but you could just shift up into a higher gear, the acceleration is far worth it. I'm using the T2W4, shortest geared of them all, I just use the next gear up than I used to in city driving.

With my M2B4 I shift into 5th at 35mph, if I'm just cruising. I think the rpm's are around 1800 when I do this. I kinda hate having the rpm's so high when cruising at 60-70mph(3-3.4k), but it's worth it.

hmotorsonline

Hdeucedeucea, we are all revving at that same rpm at that speed, 5th gear in all but I think the U2Q7 are the same.

The T2W4 is from the JDM Accord Euro R that had an H22A. It is shorter geared because the Accord weighs a lot more then a Prelude. I have a friend with a '95 SiVTEC who swapped in an H22A Euro R with T2W4 and a Type S chambered air intake. 220WHP with a King Motorsports Tune. I also know two guys with the same setup in their 5th gen.

I know this. I was just stating that it's pointless. They should have made it taller or added another gear.

6-speed FTW

Why a 6th gear? So you can shift out of fifth at 1500 rpms or something ridiculous like that?

It would be nice for highway driving, I would definitely use it. While I live in a densely populated area I still take trips around the state and use the highway to get to other parts of town to avoid traffic.

Has anyone considered swapping out 5th from a P2A5 accord transmission? .68 ratio is nice for high speed MPGs.

I got one in my 94 H22 Accord. Thing is way more responsive & quicker aceleration than a regular H22 trans! The guy who installed it for me took it for a test drive and said that its got a short final drive and way more responsive than his brother-in-law's BB6 lude. I dust my buddy's BB6 lude doing 40mph roll, and I dust my buddy's JDM H22 swapped BB2 lude doing a 40mph roll too.

Drive much? Check MPG much?

Their would obviously be no real performance gain from this but I'm sure highway MPG would increase and their would be less wear and tear on the motor.

The best MPG I've gotten is 31.5 and that was with the factory P13. I'm sure if there was a 6th gear I would've gotten 34-35mpg.

The idea of a 6th gear makes sense. I was actually just poking fun at your retarded shifting habits.

I haven't seen an increase in MPG by shifting low, but my low loads need some leaning out; average 24mpg. I really just need to install my DSM 450's and street tune the hell out of it.

I get the same mileage shifting at 4500-6000 rpms.

Their are alot of variables that effect MPG though; load, RPM, A/F.

If your car is tuned right their's no way you should be getting the same mileage. More RPM requires more fuel, which equals less MPG. Unless your lugging the engine down, their is no reason to rev the motor higher than required to accelerate.

Also if you're shifting at 6k, I'm sure your in VTEC. This would yeild an increase in VE, which would need more fuel to compensate for it.

Anyways, lets get back on topic.

Shifting does not equal cruising. Another retarded post for you.

If it's efficient to shift there, why not cruise there?

Playing devil's advocate only works when you actually have a valid point.

I think the real question is...which is stupider? Shifting at 1,500 or 6,000?
