H22 EGR delete and P13 ecu
I bought this prelude dirt track race car for a good deal
its got a chipped P28 and an EGR delete
the fuel maps seem to be WAY off so I was gonna try a stock P13 ECU( race track legal)
rather than go and pay $300 for a tune and re chip the P28 ( not track legal)
Will the egr delete cause it to throw a cel and or go into limp mode?
I can deal with a cel as long as it will perform and not go into weird *** limp mode
my last option is to pay the $300 and get it tuned and chipped(correct maps) and hide the ecu and use a dummy ecu for the inspectors
:-0)

Go with the latter option... P28 and a tune paired with the "dummy" ECU. Even if you leave the EGR lift valve plugged in and strapped into the engine bay somehow and keep the block off plate, you will eventually get the CEL for EGR issues and the car will run poorly after the code is presented. You got the car at a good deal... spend the $300 to make it right. Oh, and if you think you would be the only one "cheating" out at the track... think again.

Running with an egr code will in no way impact the drivability of the car. It simply turns off egr operation with the code turned on. The issue people have is they don't have the egr valve disconnected and the system thinks it's supposed to be working, it tries to make it work and the car runs poorly until the light comes on and it turns it off.
