You will not like what you have to do to make a B20a5 vtec conversion, its hella expensive and not reliable.
The mounts and knowledge to do the H22 swap is solid now, so you are better off going that route.
I have worked since 2006 to make this swap easy and available, but the information you need to make it happen is not on this forum. I will pm you.

Re: b20 vtec or h22 swap 3rd gen
One thing to remember is that the B20 that came in the 3rd gen preludes is a B20A with a webbed block to cylinders. Unfortunatly this is the only B series that doesn't fit the B family. The B20B and B20Z are open deck blocks and will fit VTEC heads from the B16 and B18. The B20A would be a decent boosting engine due to the webbed feature. The B20B is a lower compression engine that has a slightly dished piston that came in the early CR-V's. After customer complaints Honda changed piston design in the 1999 version with .5 higher compression making a better NA engine and killer VTEC hybrid. I have a 1998 integra with a B20B and love the power it makes, it feels more powerful than my 2 1988 ludes and my 1989 lude. I think the teg is lighter too though. If you decide B20A is the option, find yourself a B21A. My experience with the B20A's is the lower end needs to be strengthened up. My B20B has taken a lot of hard driving including a few Shannonville race days. So now Im in the process of boosting it
Everyone has preferances, this is what I know, get lots of advice and burn rubber
Oh I also have a 1993 prelude with an H22 and it does make me giggle

The B20a5 motor is the more reliable motor and has iron sleeves from the factory and as long as the cylinder walls not damaged beyond servicability, you can bore it to B21a bore specs, that will allow for a bigger discplacement and higher compression motor.
And in OEM spec, the B20a5 has the highest servicability as far as reliability goes for no bottom end work when maintaining it.
However; to date no one has done this with a turbo setup, we only know it works on an NA setup.

I really like this forum. Very good points about the B21. Nobody has done what bored and boosted? I really do miss my 3rd gen, and am about to sell my 4th gen. Maybe once my other toy is complete Ill have to go find one. My 93 is really powerful and fun but my 88 4WS was a blast. I would want yellow or black with 4WS if anyone has links to SOLID cars.
