FINALLY: THE HOW TO: Ebay EG fog -----BB1234 Prelude
DISCLAIMERS!:: IN THE SPIRIT OF X MAS HERE'S THE WRITE UP. There are better ways of doing this and this is my way, you can use this and improve on it. ..I've gotten many good help from you guys, SO HERE YA GO.
ENJOY!
>>>>>>>YOU DO NOT HAVE TO REMOVE YOUR BUMPER::::::::
TOOLS NEEDED:
A. EBAY EG AMBER FOGLIGHT KIT (EBAY $50-65 BUCKS)
1. CORDLESS DRILL WITH BITS ( AND ROTOZIP SABER CUT BITS)
2. M6 1.5" SCREWS (HOMEDEPOT) (X8)
3. PHILLIPS SCREW DRIVER
4. WIRE CONNECTORS
OPTIONAL BUT NICE TO HAVE:
A. SAWZAW
B. SOLDERING IRON
PROCESS:
1. Remove 3 gold bolts shown here which detaches fog from bracket.
2. (RIGHT SIDE) of BUMPER - RIGHT - FOG
You will cut bumper:
top portion just above where the fog COVER will sit.
3. Since we cannot use the EG civic brackets on our BB, we will need to Splice a portion of the bracket and use it. You must drill through the pinch rivots (one on each side) and disconnect the FOG mounting frame. The yellow rod represents the Drill BIT. DRILL on each side releasing the Frame.
LIKE SO:
4. Using the Square fog frame You will set on, Mark and drill 2 holes.
NOTE: Before drilling the holes, use the FOG LIGHT COVER to "GUESSTIMATE" or as an indicator to where the fogs should sit.
5. Go to HOMEDEPOT and get 8 bolts that are at least 1.5" long....Metric M-6 i believe...Just take the Fogs to Homedepot.
I cut out a Piece of sheet metal to add extra support.
6. Before you bolt down all (EIGHT) x8 bolts, Use the FOG COVER to CONCUR the exact fitment. MOUNT THE FOG.
6.2 DRILL A HOLE for the screw which will hold the COVER
7. Now you Take this BLACK - SQUARE plastic RIVOT thing off of the Original bracket assembly.
8. You will Make a small Square hole and stick this Rivot in. (Add glue also)
9. It should look like this now.
---------LEFT SIDE --------FOG---------------------------
10. You will cut off a large piece of this plastic housing above the seat of the fog and cover. USE DRILL + Saber CUT bit.
11. REPEAT STEPS 1-9 . (SAME FOR BOTH SIDES)
12. WIRING ----------------------------------------------------
A. REMOVE THE UNDER HOOD FUSE BOX. (A 10MM AND 2 CLIP RELEASES)
B. UNDER THE FUSE BOX, YOU WILL SEE A BLACK PLUG ON THE FIREWALL. REMOVE IT AND YOU'LL SEE A HOLE.
C. WIRE CLOTHES HANGER= run it through the hole and retrieve on the other side. (at the passenger kick panel)
D. Depending on where you will place your Switch, an extention will be needed. LIKE SO: I used a (1 male and 1 Female ) speaker/sub connector.
FOG Swtich........Swithc harness..........extention...........fog harness........FOG
E. Take the FOG switch harness and run it UPPPPPP to the TWEETER covers. (use Wire Clothes hanger)
F. Connect FOG HARNESS Extention to FOG SWITCH harness.
G. Wiring Diagram. NOTE: there are only (4 wires )
WHITE
RED
2 BLACKS : GROUND ...
(1 GROUND IN ENGINE BAY)
(1 GROUND UNDER DASH)
H. Drill hole, mount Switch

Fogs look great especially on a silver 4th gen but not fond of the switch but thats just me. I would have installed one in the center console or something.

Yeah, I was going to run it to the Center Consol.......I thought of maybe finding the JDM Tweeter Cover with the Fog Switch in the future and hook it up.
But yeah, there are 4 empty spaces in my center consol...That's cool too.

Re: FINALLY: THE HOW TO: Ebay EG fog -----BB1234 Prelude (egcoupe94)
Real Prelude JDM fogs on Ebay sell for about $70 bucks to $110 with fog cover and if you get lucky, a switch.
NOTE: Your stock harness has the FOG plugs...I found this out when I was installing. (It is on the same harness as your Bumper lights)
I paid $50 for this Kit and the Silver Cover was a Plus.
TIME: 4 hours ! (this is because I had to "Wing" it "trial and Error")
But I would say less than 1 hour with this write up.
I had a lot of Fun do this, and it feels really good Rolling at NIGHT knowing you did it yourself.
"I can just pay more for Name brand and have Professionals install it, But what's the point of having a Honda If you don't play with it?"
NEXT PROJECT:............... HID's. I'll post it up...also.

ingenuity @ work, looks nice. I wonder if the 4d civic one's would fit also (they're smaller, somewhat - kinda like the DC integra fog lights). I wonder how the car would look w/ the fog light covers painted black (vs. silver).

Re: (bb4ever)
Hahaha, Oh Mr. Matthew
Still, P1's are ugly. I had the chance to trade my SI rims for the P1's but.....I like my stock with Perelli's.
You're a Hater. Why do you consistently bug me? Thus I bug you and your friends with the Dual TB. Stop responding to my HOW TO's: you Stalker. You guys be butt hurt though.
REPLIES:
Whitebb2: Nope, The brackets will not fit the preludes, I tried but the Civic's bumber is Curved, slanted, prelude is quite straight.
May fit 4 door Civic.
Amber LED COrner lights a Commin'.at only $ . 99 cents! wow!

Funny, you talk about being a douchebag even though you seem to be the biggest one in here.
