Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FIT) or idle air control valve (IAC) ?
hi guys, although i tried searching and found many topics w/ this info, nothing seems to fit my case. My idle has been going "up and down" between 1500 and 2500. It used to do it only when the car was cold , but it does it all the time even when the car is warm.
took it to 3 dealers, 2 told me it was the Fast Idle Thermo Valve (FIT) , the other said it was the idle air control valve (IAC) ... Seems to be, at least to me, the Thermo valve because it only did it when the car was cold although it does it all the time now.. but i don't wanna have to replace the wrong one ( they run around 150-230 each)
What you guys think? wich one? THanks

thats another thing.. NO CODE, NO LIGHT.. it just runs like crap man,, even when i try to "bypass" by holding the rpm around 2000 it still goes up/down like "500 rpm" ...

i had the same problem. first i replaced the iac valve but that didnt fix my problem.
then i replaced the fast idle thermo valve. my car has been running fine ever since. it was about a month ago
