Euro-R I.M. on Type-S motor question???
I have a JDM Type-S motor with Type-S head (of course). I believe that the head is ported and polished. Is my Type-S intake manifold polished too? I've heard all the good thing about the Euro-R intake manifold, so I bought one. I was told that the Euro-R head is not ported and polished. Too late to realize, is my Type-S motor better suited with the Euro-R or my stock Type-S intake manifold???

Euro R Head is ported and polished, also the Euro R intake is a single runner plenum which makes less torque down low but generates more powa (as my9thtry has pointed out) at higher RPM's.
I would emagine the answer lies in what you want the engine for - circuit race / Drag Race or Daily Drive??

Re: Euro-R I.M. on Type-S motor question???
I have been missinformed then, a mechanic told me the butterflies in the secondary runners were to aid with torque.
He went as far as telling me the Type S makes its peak torque @ 6500RPM where as the Euro R makes it at 6700RPM, Said something about the Type S motor creating 100BHP per litre where the Euro R makes 102BHP per litre of engine cubic capacity.
So this being said, what is the difference's between these two engine's other than the intake manifolds?? (not trying to be a smartass or a know it all, but more so trying to help this guy with a decision for his intake manifold)

Re: Euro-R I.M. on Type-S motor question???
I'm planning to intall the Euro-R in the next two weeks. How do I go about removing the nuts of the bottom of the intake manifold? By the way, my car has the useless ATTS unit. Do I have to remove that? It looks like a bitch removing the intake manifold from up top.

yea but I reached all of my bolts with just a little trouble. If you have big or fat hands then yea remove the plenum first. Only problem I really had was tightening the bolts back cuz none of my tools could fit lol...

I can get to all of my manifold bolts from the top with a 6 or 8 inch extension, my bay has a lot less clutter than most do tho.
