cleaning up gas spill

I ran out of gas on friday night and luckily my friend had a portable gas tank so we used up about 3/4 of the tank and he tossed the remaining in my trunk incase i run out again. What he didnt do was screw the lid back on tightly and gas spilled all over my trunk and it was sitting as a puddle in the spare tire dugout.

Any idea of how I should clean the mess up?

poor a huge bag of cat liter in there. My manager at work did that when some spilt in the parking lot. It soaked it right up, dunno about the smell though https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

Just do anything to get rid of the puddle. Throw sawdust, cat litter, or whatever in there to absorb it and pull it out. With whatever residue is left just leave it open to open air and it should evaporate on its own. I wouldn't drive with the puddle in there though.

cat litter and then simple green the shit out of it, pine is better than gas.
