Yes, it will mount to it without any problems. H22 and H23 trannies are interchangeable.

thanks andy...
how would i wire up the whole vtec solenoid?
cuz my car is set up for a non vetc h23.
and car should still be good with an auto trans on the h22. i mean still gonna make good power.

unless..... you know how to convert the prelude to 5 speed?
lmk and thanks for the help.

Search for the info on wiring vtec, there are alot of threads on it. There are also threads about converting to a 5-speed.

What year is the Prelude which the H22 is going into? If it is 93 and later, it should already be pre-wired for the VTEC parts.

If not, it is easy to do. It sounds harder than it is.

The car will make a more power, but with the auto tranny, you won't be able to make the best use of it. However, it won't be bad.

Honestly, I would not go through the effort of converting it to 5spd. It is just easier and cheaper to buy a 5spd Prelude.

Converting to MT is very simple with the engine out of the car

A few bolts and about 5 wiring changes.....thats it....

well im going to buy the motor and trans tomorrow. its a 5 speed H22 from hmotorsonline. i think the years is 92-95. thats what it says. for my car so far i took off my auto shifter, brake and gas pedal assemblys, and auto gauge cluster. i ordered a clutch, brake, and gas assembly from a 94 5 speed lude. also getting shifter cables and shifter assembly with the motor. the complete swap i think they got it for 2199.
what do i need to do for wiring for the 5 speed swap?
and is there anything else i can do since im waiting for the parts to be shipped?
lmk guys. and thanks for the help...

oh and i would get a 5 speed lude but we had this one for almost 10 years. it kinda grew on me and my wife. so i dont mind the labor in converting it to 5 speed.

I would highly recommend getting the HELMS manual, its $68 I think but its worth it.

I believe you can still DL it online for no cost but you have to print stuff to have it handly while you work.

I am actually doing an H22 swap right now, I got my motor from Hmotors also. It looks great. you should be happy.

I would suggest having a friend help you, take your time and do it right. Change the timing belt if you are comfortable with that, I also did a manual tensioner conversion(from H23).

I get alot of my info from preludeonline.com , there are writeups for the swap and friendly people willing to help. HT seems to be full of ******** that say "search it" but the search feature is HORRIBLE. You cant find **** for threads!

goodluck
