Default block seems to be ruined

I went to the mechanic shop today too look at my block before it went to the machine shop. When I looked at it I saw that the walls were scored severly and that my OS pistons did not really fit in tight, which means my block is just about done. I am guessing this is the reason I used to burn about 5 qts of oil in about 1000 miles. So I need to find a block or new walls(if possible). Anyone have any ideas where I can find either one of those? Can I even just get new walls? BTW I have an SH, so do all short blocks mate? I will probably have to hone/bore the block to put in the OS pistons anyway.

if the thing is already oversize, you won't be able to hone and then re use it.

You could get it sleeved with iron liners.

I honestly didn't want to get it sleeved because it is going to cost me a lot more. Since I would have to buy another set of pistons plus sleeves. I would rather get another h22 blocks, btw does an SH block won't match with base blocks will they?

SH blocks and base/4Gen blocks are not interchangeble. After you pay for another block, rebuilding, etc, it may work out the installing Darton liners in your current block may be cheaper. You might be able to find a low mileage SH block that you can drop in with just a little work (water pump, timing belt, etc).

i haven't found an SH block anywhere. I already have a new pump on mine as well as a new oil pump that needs to be put in. Most of the things on my car are new, except the block that needs work. Any idea where I can find an SH block, I have searched a lot for it.
