Before drilling holes in driver side apillar to mount tach....
are there any wires that I should be aware of? If there are no wires, are there any other complications? If not, it's time to DRILL!
By the way, anyone know if the stock tachometer is 100% correct?

You should remove the a-pillar first. It just snaps in place. Yes, there are wires behind it.

Stock tachs vary, some are right on, some arn't..
Please Please for love of God don't mount a tach in your car! Your prelude will hate you for it!

i always thought it looked queer to mount a tach in a car that already comes with one that is big enough to read!
when you get a turbo, and you REALLY need additional gauges, go for it. otherwise it's just ricey.
if I see an a-pillar pod, I expect FI or a really really built car. On my last car, a second gen RX7 turbo I added a boost gauge to the pod b/c teh stock gauge had no numbers and was worthless....it looked cool at night, I'm sure it gets peoples attention seeing all these lights in your car, but it they are just for show, what good are they

The tach I'm mounting has MANY features that will be beneficial to me at the tracks and tuning of the car. If it was just a plain tach that had a shift light, I would not bother mounting it nor buying it.
BUT since I got a good deal on an Autometer 5" Single Channel Ultimate Tach, I guess I might as well mount it, wouldn't you? If you had one of Autometer's highest-end tachs, wouldn't you want to use it? (I just hope no one attemps/tries to steal it.)
Well, I help it up in position to where I want it to be, and it doesn't look that bad. It's just too bad it won't match the electro-luminescent gauges of my 96 VTEC.

I still wouldn't do it, because it would block my vision for autox, track days.. I don't like stuff in my way.. The only thing i would but in my car is temp guages and maybe a shift light if my tach was broke..

I've purchased a new rev tach with shift light etc... and it beps to, the reason is that stock tach arn't very accurate...
also 2nd reason is that i need to concentrate on my driving etc and not keep looking at how many revs i'm doing etc... so the light is very usful as well as the beep beep
