Default Anyone ever powder coat shocks?

I've gotten lots of recommendations for and against powder coating shocks and I'm left without a definite answer.

So I was wondering if anyone has hands on experience with having shocks powder coated. Does the high heat from baking negatively affect your shock in any way? did the seals burn up and fail?

Only reason I still consider powder coating is because i got a deal for $30 for all 4 shocks. Otherwise i'd just paint it myself with some rust bullet and spray paint (thx vin)

by the way, they are koni shocks. if you have koni's you know how easy the paint chips.

if you took them completely apart and powdercoated the tubes and then re-assembled them yeah, its fine

if you stick your shocks in an 800* oven or whatever...they'll explode, stink, possibly catch fire and ruin everything anyways

just paint them powder coat would be a bit excessive. to do it right you would most likely have to dissasemble down to the tube.

cure ovens are actually set from 390 to 425 degrees depending on what the coater prefers. 800 is way too high
