Default Anybody wanna buy the ACT flywheel?

Since I'm gonna swap them, I guess the old one is for sale, I don't know how much it's worth, so make a good offer. I wouldn't reccomend buying it in California either, hehehe.

Don't sell it man, it is one of the best things i have ever put on my car.. If your worried about the timming marks, buy a stock flywheel that has the marks and take both the ACT and the stock to a local machine shop and have them match the stock one to the ACT... Then you will have a lighter flywheel with the timming marks.. Just a suggestion though...

just curious, the flywheel has "timing" marks on it?? I thought the flywheel had NOTHING to do with timing??? I always though a flywheel just bolted on...

and they are $$$ too, like $500 or so new right? but they are good mods.

The marks on the flywheel are needed for setting ignition timing. The flywheel is an accurate representation of what position the motor is, so consider it sort of a gauge in relation to ignition timing.

The timing light hooks up to the #1 Cyl wire, which is where it gets its "signal" for the ignition timing from the distributor. The timing light is nothing but a strobe light that flashes very fast at a certain interval; for the signal it sees. SO, the distributor should be producing spark at a specific rate, to create the optimum spark/burn in the cylinder head. Using 15° as an example, the light will flash at a certain interval to light up the 0 on the flywheel, indicating desired timing(15°). The flywheels marks are in positions where they will show how close you are to the desired ignition timing. The timing marks are to help set the dizzy to the right timing. You move the distributor clockwise to retard and vice-versa. Once you have the timing light exactly on 0, you have the desired timing. Older timing guns were not adjustable, newer ones are. I have both and hate the non-adjustable one as it isn't helpful for accurate timing advances.

Hope that cleared it up without confusing more!
