Another Turbo Prelude is out on the streets
Recently I just finished up working on another prelude. Other than the fact that Jonathan used my Drag Gen 2 manifold and 1/2 of the drag upper IC piping, this whole set-up was custom.
My new toys:
Miller 180SD Tig Welder (excuse the clutter in the garage)
Horizontal Bandsaw
I am in the process of learning welding right now, so to help me is my buddy greg.
But as of my 3rd day welding, here is some of my personal work:
mild steel tig
aluminum tig
Jonathan traveled down from Charlotte, NC and unfortunately brought a whole lot of bad luck with him and a wiring nightmare that looked like a birds nest half full with duck tape, hehe. No offense to Jonathan, but any of you looking to go turbo please take the time to purchase parts that are not second hand and also make sure you are getting the right parts. Unfortunately this job took a few days longer due to the fact that Jonathan unknowingly had AEM cam gears that were defective, a shortage of IC piping, an S-AFC that was non-working, improper fittings for his fuel rail, and injectors that would not fit into the manifold. Luckily however I was able to solve all of these issues by overnighting parts and what not.
Work Performed:
Battery Relocation with custom aluminum battery mount
HID lights and other misc items rewired, soldered, and hidden
Moderate Stereo work - Mounted Amp, ran wires, hid wires, etc.
Attempt to install junk ebay AEM cam gears
Walbro 255 Fuel pump
DSM 450CC injectors with necessary o-ring modification
S-AFC Hack
Greddy Profec-B
Autometer Boost gauge (resoldered all other gauge wiring as well)
Turbo Kit install
Custom intercooler piping
Custom 2.5" downpipe that is A/C compatible
New dual core metal Radiator
Street tuning with Wideband 02 readings
Unfortunately I lost a large amount of the pictures that show the quality in detail of the downpipe that was fabricated as well as the intercooler piping and engine bay. I also all of the pictures that show the whole process of installing a turbo kit, thank my shitty computer for that. Personally, these pictures do not do justice to the install and fabrication that was done. Keep in mind, when using mild steel for downpipes they always get that way when heat hits them, that's why I prefer stainless steel for that extra bling effect. I wish I could have spent an extra hour or two detailing my work, but Jonathan had to head back to Charlotte asap for Hot Import Nights.

Overall, I am very pleased with the outcome of the set-up. The only downfall of the whole set-up is how we had to run the intercooler piping. Unfortunately Jonathan did not have enough bends to run the piping the way I wanted to and due to time restrictions we had to make due with the materials we had. I know this is not the proper way to run the piping and the sharp bend will hinder the velocity of the air flow by promoting turbulence, but once again this was done due to lack of materials available and time restrictions. I did however test this bend out by hooking it up to a powerful air source and observing the flow. The outcome was not as bad as I had originally suspected. I also would have liked to run it a different way reducing the amount of piping used to combat pressure drop, but the drag gen 2 manifold is not the best design manifold in my books. A battery box will also be needed in order for Jonathan to pass inspections.
As for power, this car hauls ***. Hopefully we will have a video of it up soon, the
best part is when we pull into my driveway and there is smoke pouring out from his calipers due to his brake pads. I would estimate this car in the 230-240whp range as of right now with the moderate street tuning it received. I would have liked to tune it a little bit more, but due to time limitations we didn't. The only restrictions I say are the APC spark plug wires, the sharp bend on the IC piping, the stock exhaust piping after the downpipe, and the AFC-hack. This car can easily hit 260whp I believe with hondata, 2 more psi of boost, some more tuning, and a little bit more custom work done by yours truely.
If anyone is interested in my services please send me a PM. I am also soon looking into producing a line of custom turbo kits for all H series motors depending on demand.

I'm trying to keep busy. I would like to design custom turbo kits for the 4th and 5th gens in the very near future.... The price would be similar to the drag kits I believe and be 3x the quality. I can pretty much do anything in my garage minus body work, if anyone is interested send me a PM. As for machine work, I have a very reputable top notch machine shop 15 min from my house that does all my sleeving, honing, balancing, etc.

Turbo sizes depend on the motor and the horsepower range the customer wants to be in.

Bring me a car, and I'll fabricate the header or manifold. Not only will I fab them, but I will bench flow each runner to see what type of CFM's they are flowing and have them designed via autocad.

Except flowbench testing won't work at all. If I build a header with 7" primaries(!) I guarantee it'll outflow the competition. It's all about resonance and flow velocity, not restrictions...

anthony is the man. he did a kick *** job on my setup and i recommend everyone to take their cars to him i got my car back in time for hin and managed to make it on a ton of sites. as for the tails they arent smoked they were orginally clear tails i bought to mess around with and ended up painting them
