another starting issue, more electrical
okay so recently when I go to start my car in the morning it cranks as if the battery has been drained below 12v. So Ive been monitoring it lately and heres the conditions and what Ive tried so far. First off I have shaved handles so if the batt voltage is below 11v the doors wont even pop.
Initially I cleaned off the battery terminals and connectors. Each day I get into the car I first turn the igniton on and wait for my vafc to start up to see what the batt is reading. Usually 12.1v Then dash lights glow like full power w/ ignition on. Then I start and thats when it acts like the batt is low. The dash lights dim like a low batt. A few to a many few slow cranks and then it fires up. If it sits for a while, usually overnight it the same thing.
If I go to work its not as bad, possibly cause its garage parking and not as cold as being on the street, but same thing almost.
Any ideas people? This isnt a swap just the same engine thats been in the car forever. TIA

When the engine is running, do you read around 14 volts? If so, the system is charging. Your battery is probably too old or defective to hold a good charge anymore. The problem gets worse the colder it gets.
