u should try bleeding the clutch again, maybe you have a leak. and did you adjust the clutch pedal at all??
i used an Action press plate and a stock disc on my H22 for 3 years with 8000 rpm launches on 13x8x25 " slicks with no problems..
try either adjusting the pedal and or rebleeding it before buying another clutch..
where does it engage? low? high?

Re: (h22crxpwr)
it engages where it has been ever since i first installed it. I've always had about an inch of play before the master cylinder engages the slave, likely because i did not bench bleed the master when i first put it in. Never had a problem launching at 8000 with the stock motor and same clutch setup.
It disengages fine and engages where it always has. But when it does engage now, it feels awkward, like its glazed and cant grip the flywheel.
I'll try adjusting the pedal and bleeding again, but i really doubt that is going to solve the problem.
If the clutch/plate is the problem, Billy has a Competition sprung 4 puck on hold for me.

yea, i tried a 2nd gear burnout and it wouldnt spin the tires. Also, when i let off the clutch to engage it, the pedal got stuck at the engagement point. I tapped the pedal with my foot and the pedal popped back to its original position. Put it in first and did a burnout.

Re: (skunked)
yea, i referred to it as glazed. But the pedal getting stuck at the engagement point baffled me. I didn't realize it until I realized that the tires were not smoking. I went to push in the clutch and the pedal was not there, lol.
the clutch was installed aug 2006.

Re: (bonh)
yeah blake when you called and i told you to let the clutch cool down and adjust the pedal...did you try that before putting the street tires on?
sounded like it was glazed and the engagement point was too low.

Re: (mgags7)
ok clutch problem is fixed as far as i can tell. It was a few things. The top bolt of the clutch pedal mount had come loose, the rod was loose, the pedal stop had come off and the clutch needed to be rebled. awkward that all that comes loose when i even bled the clutch before i went out and tightened the rod back into place. I put the clutch engagement point right before where the brake pedal sits as per advice via Natalie (thank you) and i also did another trick per advice from roger. I usually put 2 quarts of oil in the transmission through the vss, roger told me to add another half a quarter to the transmission. I am guessing this is to just cover the gears and synchros a bit more, but it definitely feels better.
the next event is at the 1/4 mile on the 28th of this month. I'll likely be attending.
