Icon5 96 prelude OBD2 Engine Swap help

i have looked for weeks about what engine swap i can do for my 96 prelude its got a blow h23a1 and i cant find much about 96 swaps that work with obd2 92-95 there are tons. from what i found i can use a h23a3 i just need to use alot of stuff from my h1 and make a spot for the knock sensor does anyone have any info that can help me get my prelude back on the streets plz and ty

I'm pretty sure the immobilizer didn't come out until 97, which makes things much easier for you.

you can get a h22a4, h22a, or h23a, then add the 2 wires for vtec, and get a 96 vtec ecu, and done. may or may not need to swap distributor and intake manifold for the h23a

will the h22a4 h22a h23a bolt up to the auto trany?

yes. and you'd just need to make sure you get an auto ecu

I just did a little research and it does appear that the h23a3 is identical to the h23a1

i need the obd 2 to work cuz my state has emissions inspection on all obd2 cars 96 and up so will me putting in this obd1 engine pose any problems with that ik i need to swap the intake, knock sensor anything else? and this is the h23a3 engine im talking about i plan on using the h23a1 wire harness

Just get the non vtec H23a or the H23a3 and transfer over the intake manifold, exhaust manifold, knock sensor its not there.

Everything else will work.

I got another question iv read sense my h23a1 is Obd2 it has a camshaft sensor the h23a3 is obd1 seems it don't have one how do i switch it over if its even possible?

That is located and bolted to the oil pump down by the crank.
Just transfer that sensor over.

Bam your solved.
