The fan on my 92 accord will kick on after the car is turned off and will run for about 5 mins (only after the car hits normal running temp) and it has never cause a problem for me and i have had the car for well over 4 years.

Its normal, thats why you have ECT sensor for the fan. if your radiator is not getting the correct airflow to lower the coolant temperature. your fans should come on at a specific temperature. When your car is moving, its constantly cooling the radiator, air is moving thru. Your fan should come on after a long drive 2hrs from SD to LA or vice versa, stop and go etc. However if its coming on and staying on for a long time, then your coolant is going bad and or the sensors. It can quickly lead to overheating, and burn out or fail other cooling components. I had the same problem 2 years back, got my radiator and cooling system flush. it was brown and funky. Now its fine.

Re: 4th gen. radiator fan stays on after car is off?
ive got a 94 accord LX....the fan kicks on and off as it pleases... just did an H22a swap... so all the sensors have been changed. new thermostat...new battery.. coolant flush... air bled. but the fan drains the cars battery... it also comes on when the car is cold... it did this with the f22 and now again with the h22...also the AC fan comes on when the key is turned to ON even if the AC button is not engaged...another problem that i think mite be related to this issue.. is the passenger corner light will stick on..it has only happened twice.. but none the less... i thought maybe the alarm had crossed some wires... so i changed it... thought the radio harness mite have fried something... so i changed it..ive narrowed it down to either the interior fuse box, or the one under the hood... if this does not fix it... i dont know what else to do except bypass the whole system... but i really would like it to function the way it was manufactured too... thanks for any ideas or suggestions in advance.
