2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
Sometimes when I go to start my car it sounds like it's going to start like normal then kinda stalls unless I add gas even when I hold the clutch or in neutral

Re: 2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
I bought it used with 175 k miles I cannot confirm anything that is my problem. I can say what he told me "changed oil, coolent, and replaced all the hose" but a little after I got a small coolent leak which I replaced the same day and removed air from the system. I don't know if he has replace spark plugs and it's happens on starts when I drive around or after starting and pressing the glass pedal everything is good.

Re: 2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
So start doing maintenance: new fuel and air filters, spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor, clean fitv, iacv, egr, injectors, adjust valves, check timing...

Also if timing belts last change is unknown you should do that as well

Re: 2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
Should I use stock factory stuff or try for "premium" or just go performance parts. Because with time over the years I will be adding performance parts. Things like valve camshaft and so on.

Re: 2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
Depends about which part youre talking about
Cant go wrong with oem but for example Gates have ok timing belt/water pump kit and Ngk and msd ignition parts You should forget performance parts - you only lose money with those things. Wrong car for that |
Re: 2000 Honda prelude H22A4 with series A trans starting issues
Honestly I'm out here asking because I know very little and asking people for opinions to make sure my prelude last for alot longer because it's already a car that didn't sale much when it was new so I know it has that exclusivity.
