OK, BUT I'VE HEARD YOU NEED TO CHANGE THE DISTRIBUTOR AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR. IS THAT TRUE?? HAVE YOU DONE THIS CONVERSION BEFORE??

I have performed the swap. You will need:
OBD1 distributor
OBD1 injectors
OBD1 wiring harness
OBD1 Fuel Rail because the fuel line hooks up on the other side on the H22A4
As far as the TPS and CS just take them off and leave them disconnected, for they are not needed on OBD1.
Some people would say that you need an OBD1 throttle body, but this isnt true, becaue on the 4th gen prelude, the MAP sensor is mounted on the firewall so, you can use the 5th gen TB and just not plug up the top sensor...no code because that sensor isnt even working...just plugging a hole!
If you are trying to convert to OBD1 in a 5th gen, then this may or may not be of any help, but if you are converting a 5th gen H22 from OBD2 to OBD1, then this will help you out.

With an OBDII->OBDI harness, an OBDI ecu swap is plug-n-play in a 5th gen lude. You don't need an OBDI distributor. I'm not really sure where people are getting the idea that the stock distributor will not work.

i was under the assumption that all honda ecu's are made to drive saturated injectors and the resistor box was put into early model cars in order to drive peak and hold's. if this is true then any honda ecu should be able to drive the saturated injectors in the 2001. the only difference with the prelude would be that the obd1 lude injectors are bigger so the fuel mapping on the ecu would not be optimized during open loop for the smaller 5th gen injectors

i have driven saturated injectors on a peak and hold ecu and peak and hold injectors on saturated ecus. the ecu jsut sees the resistance...
also i would think that fuel mappisn should be ok since the 290cc injectors are being run at much higher pressure than the 345cc ones.

Re: (v4lu3s)
much higher pressure? where did you get that? Even if they were changing the ecu will still be wrong if you don't change the fuel pressure. Consdering they've been using the same stock FPR design I don't see why they would have changed it.
You don't need to change the distributor but you do need to add a resistor box and injectors or the sizing will be all wrong

my local shop quoted me $350 for plug and play chipped ecu with obd conversion harness, Just needed my factory ecu number and wants me to bring a dyno sheet. not sure on new ecu number is..waiting to find out....
