Icon2 '00 prelude ecm trouble not cranking

my 2000 prelude will not crank up in the mornings. it will turn over but there is no fire. i can heat the ecm up with a hair drier for about ten minutes and the car will then crank. i sent the ecm off to get rebuilt got it back, and it is still doing the same thing. is there any thing else that could be cause this?

thats sure a different approach to diagnostics....

can you give us useful information? maybe check engine lights? whether you have power to the injectors when this fault occurs?

there are literally 100 things that can cause an engine not to run and without useful data that can help pinpoint the problem, you wont ever figure it out unless you get lucky buying parts and pray it fixes it.

Do you have any mechanical or diagnostic experience? do you have a multimeter? test light? general understanding of electricity?

Do you have any mechanical or diagnostic experience? do you have a multimeter? test light? general understanding of electricity? yes to all of the above.

the car was flooded once(under water)that why i tried the hair drier. the ignition module, coil, spark plugs, and wires have been replaced. it will start to smell like gas so i would think the injectors are getting power.

i can heat the ecm up and the car will fine. i can then take the ecm out put it in the refrigerator for 20 minutes and then back in the car and it will not crank. i can heat the ecm back up and the will crank and run again.

no check engine light at all, and it dose work.

My 00 Lude's ECU was doing the same thing, although mine didn't have any water damage. I eventually purchased from a facebook prelude group and had it reprogrammed at a Honda dealership. Cost 105 bucks for Honda to reprogram it, but now my Lude starts when cold.
