0-60 time on 1998 prelude?
Hi, I have a 1998 honda prelude base. It is also a tip tronic. If I was in tip mode, what would be the 0-60 time? One more thing. How does tip-tronic compare to manual as far as speed? I have a full cat-back exhaust done and high flow cat. Should i get new headers? would it even make a difference?
Thank you
Thank you

Why not just take a stop watch and get your own exact 0-60? Anyway, triptronic is very slow compared to manual. Almost 2 seconds in the 1/4 mile. For a header, the factory H22 header is already pretty decent, so upgrading to a DC or something cheap won't help you much. RMF headers will make a difference with a good tune, but they'll cost you $800

Without a good header you still have a bottleneck and your other mods aren't doing much. Have you been reading too many magazines?

Re: (Hawkze_2.3)
lol...Wow... was i realy that far off. Alot of people say the stock headers are good so I decided not to change them. Now your hp ratings are like "to the wheel ratings" right? I think you probly correct on that. Thanks for the info Hawkze. Do you know of any other bolt-ons i can do to boost my hp?
btw My muffler has a 2.5" inlet so and so does my highflow. So I am pretty sure im 2.5" all the way back.
Thanx

The best thing you can do is research. Check out the FAQS, do some reading and searching and you'll find tons of info on here. There's an "I'm new, what can I do for more power?" thread somewhere, but I can't find it.

Re: (tacticalcustoms)
Your prelude has around 160 horsepower stock to the wheels. Some went out of their way just to dyno it. But like Hawkze said you are making a good 10 hp with all the $$ you put in it. The only way I see you getting 30 hp with all those bolt-ons is if you get it tuned. Tuning is the key.

Re: (frompa)
Haha, if you just want cheap straight-line hp, get an 80s-90s Mustang. If you want a car that handles great, looks great, gets good gas milage, has reliability, and is fun to work on and drive, then keep your Prelude....it just won't be cheap to make fast in a straight line.

he can run me if he wants.......Rockingham Dragway is about an hour and a half from us......i was planning on going in the next couple of weeks anyway
and like they all said most 4cyl cars don't give a big response to bolt ons........for straight line the fox body mustang (87-93 i think) is where it's at if you are on a budget
