I don't believe they stand for anything. Just like YZF, or ZX, or GSXR. Lots of people will make up an acronym, some making sense, others not so much.

CBR stands for city bike racing. if you remember the old honda cb is a honda city bike. RR stands for race replica, not race ready like most people think.

Honda uses CB to designate their inline 4 engines and R is for race. So thats supposedly what cbr stands for.

CBR came from the old CB line of bikes. CB stood for City Bike.

The R adds "Race".

Incorrect. There were CB bikes that were parallel twins as well. The CBX was an inline 6.
