pros and cons for a CBR F3 vs CBR F4i
I need to know if there is any design flaw or negative side to owning a F3. The F4I costs more, and has CCT issues? but it is probably better designed since its knew. BTW the f3 is a 49 state bike registered in Cali.

The major differeneces between the f3/f4i is the frame, different motor, and different style bodywork.
The f3 had a steel frame, the f4/f4i is aluminum. The motors are both well designed, and are pretty close in hp ratings. The f4i is fuel injected whereas the f3 is carbeurated.
I have run my f3 against f4i's with the same mods and have spanked em. But then again mine has had a little head work done to it.
They are both capable bikes, It really matters which one you can get the best deal on and which one feels best to you.
Many people have commented that the f3 is more comfortable than the new f4i's, but i havent had enough seat time on an f4i to comment.
And as for the honda cam chain tensioner, well that has been an ongoing problem. the f1 aka hurricane had a manual tensioner, but would wear, so they went to a hydraulicly activated one in the f2's those were worse, so they went back to the manual cam chain tensioners in the f3's and so on to the newest models which have noisy cam chain tensioners.....
If it is a first bike, i say go with the f3. They are cheaper, parts are easy to find as most are interchangable with f2 parts, and if you have a spill the steel frame can be take more of a beating than an aluminum one.
Good luck on your decision.
