Remove the seat from the bike, flip it over and start peeling the fabric from the seat base. After you have the vinyl off of the base, cut the foam so that it is thinner and then reattatch the vinyl to the base/foam.

Get the links and lower the front using the triple clamps, should still handle
good but you can't lean over as far.

Take the seat off. Take off the vinyl/leather seat covering (probably held in place by staples). Take off the foam. Now buy yourself a nice big piece of gel (I don't remember the website that offers big pieces but I'm sure you can find it). Cut it to the shape of the plastic frame for your seat and glue it on. Reattach the seat cover and voila - you have a seat that's probably an inch to an inch and a half lower and still extremely comfortable.
EDIT: Found the website that goes into detail of the above process (includes websites for you to buy the materials)

i lowered my handlebars by 2 inches via the triple clamps in order to achieve a more aggressive riding position and less of a tendency to lift up. you can also dial in your rear shock to meet a more specific weight (in doing so, you need to pay attention to carrying people). If you need to lower because you arent touching the ground, thats a different story. You can get lowering links, but be aware that this drastically effects your ground clearance, turn degree, and lean angle. Honestly, the best bike i had, only my toes would touch the ground sitting at the rear of the seat; i like it better that way. with my cbr6 f4i, i can plant my feet at any position.
