HELP - Car GPS on a Bike..?
My friend got a car Garmin Nuvi GPS from his dad as birthday gift, but he already has one in his Honda Civic. So, he just planning to use this GPS on his Honda CBR600RR. Wondering how many are using a car GPS on their bike and what are the issues if any?
Any help/info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Re: HELP - Car GPS on a Bike..?
I've only ever used mine at night a few times to calibarate my speedohealer correctly. The only other thing I can think of besides what Ragnaroek said is the battery probably won't last as long as a motorcycle one but I could be wrong.

My friend used a car GPS on his motorcycle for a cross country trip. No problems whatsoever if you don't care about not hearing directions. Just couldn't use it in the rain.

Re: HELP - Car GPS on a Bike..?
Good Story Here.
A friend of mine was doing a cross country ride on his VStrom 1000, he had wired a cigarette plug on the bike and plugged the GPS into it. for rain he simply put a quart ziploc bag around it. Going through Northern Oregon, he stoped to help a BMW R1200GS with a Flat tire. The BMW rider had a BMW gps on his bike ($800). As Tony was helping the guy, the other rider made a smart a$$ coment to the effect of "Nice GPS Setup!!". Tony then replied, " yep, it didnt cost me $800 and i dont have a flat tire" He got on his bike and rode off. hahahah F'n Beemer dicks
