Wonder how fast that would go heh</TD></TR></TABLE>
The big ruck goes about 70 MPH.

I work at a small pizza place, where 15 deliveries in a 4 hour time span is considered to be really busy. 20 miles per shift is average. I estimate the city limits is about 9 square miles (3 X 3). I think the scooter will be adequate for about 90% of the deliveries.

Oh man, I just remembered you PM'ing me about my scooter. I just got it down here at school last night. I could have saved you about $2,300
I thought you only had to get license, insurance, helmet, etc. etc. if it was above an 80cc?

Yeah, I figured you weren't interested since you didn't reply back, and I wanted something I know would be reliable, and I didn't have to worry about shipping it.

The vision has become reality. I screwed a few 2 X 4's together to make a base to attach pizzas too. Beverages will go in the front storage compartment (can hold a 2 liter, and a few cans). I'll be trying it out on Tuesday night! Well, as long as it aint snowing

What is this crap?
Re: The Head's scooter Thread (The_Head)
Nice! good luck with that. took the ninjer two-fiddy out today - basically a scooter with a manual tranny - it still suprises me how quick it is when you shift at redline. good luck and be safe.

Yeah I kind of wish the scoot had a manual tranny, even if it were a 3 speed. I did kick around the idea of getting a 250 cc bike (Suzuki GZ250, Virago 250, Nighthawk 250, Ninja 250) but this is something different.

How are the 2x4s mounted to the back? I think I'd want something simpler/lighter hanging out back there...Maybe get a nice carbon fiber rack custom made?

Re: The Head's scooter Thread (falcongsr)
I actually used fence post staples, they are like a --> U but pointy on the ends like nails. I was thinking about having a friend make a similar dimension box out of aluminum. The 2 X 4's are kind of unsightly. I might make it so the block is more easily removable.
A few first impressions... It has really long "gearing"... it makes a CRX HF look quick. It takes really long to get up to speed. Cars can out accelerate it, which I find a little uncomfortable. I got it up to around 42 mph, with a tail wind. It's definitely not for the highway, it is comfortable around 25-30 mph. It handles really well though, It's only 175 lbs with a low CG so you can take 90* turns at 25-30 without having to slow down much, you just lean and go. Living in the land of 8000 lb Diesel pickup trucks, I've been getting alot of looks

I recommend changing the weights and/or your variator. I just swapped out the variator and weights in my 49cc ruckus and this things alot quicker now. Here's a link to a video I made the other night. It's about an $80 mod and it's definately worth it. Try http://www.battlescooterstore.com they might sell one for your scooter.

Re: The Head's scooter Thread (dwnthehatch)
this cached google page shows how a variator works http://72.14.203.104/search?q=...fox-a
thats pretty neat and a simple way to make a continuously variable transmission. it must only work in very low power applications because i havent seen it anywhere else.

Haha, when you go over an icy patch it kind of confuses the drive system, its kinda weird.
Thanks for the link to battlescooters, althought they dont carry anything for Elites. Would parts from other Honda scooters work? I'm definitely going to look into one of the "scooter" helmets.
Any other links to scooter sites or forums would be helpful. I am on an Elite Yahoo group, but its not that great.

Re: The Head's scooter Thread (Juan_19)
I found this website that states that the variator is restricted on the elite. It even has instructions on how to de-restrict it. It's halfway down the page. http://www2.hawaii.edu/~ckkrobin/message.htm
