Giving up the car...
Ok, so i have always be interested in getting a motorcycle... i just dont know where to start... i know that you have to get your motorcycle licence... Which im going to do soon i think. But what i would like to know is what should i do for a bike? I want something thats, cheap, clean, and looks great. Also, what are some things that i should know before buying a bike? I have searched around a bit but i would like some more thoughts on where i should start... Thanks guys!

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=585065 read this, apparently you didnt search. your only going to get the same answers now as what was posted then. hope you pay more attention when your on 2 wheels. and no you dont ahve to have your license to ride. you can have a permit, that restricts you to daytime rides and no passengers

Its all right in the newbie thread.
Everyone will recommend you start on a 250 or 500, or maybe like a late 80's CB600 or something, buy all the proper gear (helmet, gloves, pants, boots, jacket), take the MSF, and keep your head on straight whenever you are out riding.

i would think it would be a little hard to even find a 80s bike, i started off on a 03' DRZ-400

Wouldn't really give up the car to buy a bike. I did it and sometimes regret not having a car, although it's not so bad now that it's summer.
But,
Do the damn thing!

Re: Giving up the car... (Otherguy)
first off take the msf classs then u go and pick up a 250 kawasaki or a 500gs suzuki ( great bike cause it was my starter bike) last but not least u may pick these up before ur msf class... gloves, helmets, either a one piece suite or a jaket and pants combo and boots............ dont think about riding in jeans and vans or some other shitty *** combo to protect urself at speeds on bikes. dont cut corner on GEAR dont be a cheap or ur gonna pay for it with ur skin. and last dont buy a bike and start stunting wheelies, stoppies etc learn how to properly ride and controll ur bike and ride safe dont show off!!!!
