If you're at all mechanically inclined and like to work a little on your own stuff keep im mind the 89-90 honda cb-1(400 cc gear driven cam inline 4)or a
88-91 honda hawk gt(650 cc v-twin). Both are generally regarded as great starter bikes but with their age you should probably be willing to diy a little bit.
Nice, I'll take a look at those too. Two of my friends down in VA have garages where I can store the bike/work on it. I think for a first bike though, I really want something that I can just ride without worrying about a whole lot.

Unless you want to sell yours.

Those Hawk GT's are so sick. I want one.

Dave, we'll holler when we roll through Blacksburg. Haven't been to the Hokie House in years.

thanks, the plan was to sell it next fall to move onto a 599 or 919 but once I started riding it and tearing the carbs apart, etc I get the feeling it's gonna be kept around even when I decide to get something a little bigger next year. It's a fun little bugger.

Unless you wanna trade for that pos rc51

Let me know. I probably won't pick up a bike until towards the end of the summer, but if you're down here in the fall I'll have an extra ticket if you want to go to a football game.

Motorcycle safety course taught me how to ride. I highly recommend.

I'm looking to take the motorcycle safety course next month. I've got a deposit on a brand new '11 cbr 250R. It's not expected to arrive at my dealership until early May.

Finished up the MSF course yesterday. I won't be able to make it to the DMV to get my license until sometime in June or July though.

My MSF class is actually at the end of May/early June. I passed on the CBR 250R and picked up an '11 Ninja 650R. I traded my Honda 400ex sport quad towards it and got a pretty good deal.

I just recently got a 2011 Honda Shadow Phantom. I wanted to start off with something small and not extremely fast.

The best way to learn to ride is on low powered likes. The bigger and more powerful ones are takes a lot of effort and skill when you need to make quick manuvers
