Default 93 CBR 600 F2 won't start

I just bought a CBR 600 F2, the previous owner replaced the rectifier, but it still won't start, i hear the starter go but it won't fire, could it be the stator? if anyone has any ideas what its problem could be let me know, thanks

Is the gas flowing? Manual petcock on that bike? Are you getting spark?

- Make sure the battery is fully charged.
- Turn the fuel valve to "ON" or "RES", it's on the left side of the bike right under the seat.
- Make sure it has fresh gas
- Check plugs, make sure they are sparking and clean
- Check to see if gas is getting to the carbs, there is a fuel line you can pull off
- Turn choke on
- Try putting a little starting fluid in the tops of the carbs

Ok, there are a few things that may happen if its your stator, sometimes your rectifier will cause your 30a magnetic switch fuse in your starter. If your bike is cranking over you'll hear a more high pitch wind and if you listen to the exhaust it sounds like its running but it is not as loud... hence your just cranking over with out igniting your fuel. Sometimes you can look at your stator and see its burned around it in its housing, and you can test your stator with a multi meter

im having the same problem, my 93 cbr 600 wont start, it cranks, the exhaust is pulsating (smells like fuel), but wont light up. im not a mechanic, but ive taken the fuel tank off, and the intake. any suggestions on what i can do at home, so i dont have to spend 500 some dollars on a mechanic to look at it? spark plugs were recently replaced

do you have spark?

also, how clean are your carbs? if it's sat for a while and you didn't condition the fuel, the pilot jets might be clogged, which will prevent it from starting or idling well.
