Timing Belt Question

Timing Belt Question
I have an 2008 Ridgeline with 75,000 miles.
Service Manual says to change at 105,000 or 7 years. Mine is almost 10 years old. Should I change now?

Re: Timing Belt Question
Good question. The RL uses the maintenance minder which will prompt you to change the TB at the OCI prior to reaching 105k miles. I don't believe the MM takes time in service into consideration. Prior to the implementation of the MM, the normal service interval was 105k miles or 7 years.
i also have a 2008 RL with 107k miles and am waiting for 120k miles before changing the TB/water pump, spark plugs, hydraulic tensioner, serpentine belt and tensioner, valve adjustment, and replace the radiator. I don't tow and my RL is garaged.
if you drive in severe service conditions, you probably should consider an earlier TB service.
As usual, ymmv.

Re: Timing Belt Question
If it was me I would change the belt now.
Even if you pay somebody (around 1000 dollars) it is still cheaper than a new engine.
If you do it yourself it may cost you only 150 dollars for parts.
Good luck,
Sam
