Honda Pilot XL 2007 Rear Wiper Won't Return
So I bought a used Honda Pilot XL for fairly cheap from a family friend, and it's been well used but also has had almost nothing replaced for that reason.
One of the problems I'm facing at the moment is that the rear wiper can only turn move in one direction. From the "home" position, you can use it once, then it will be stuck on the other side, unable to return back to the "home" position. You can also hear a low buzzing sound coming from the blade when this happens until you go out and move the blade back to the home position manually.
Is this an indication I need a new motor for the blade? Or are there some other things I can try first (keeping in mind I'm fairly new to car repairs) before I resort to a new motor?
Thank you for the replies

If the wiper motor is anything like the power lock actuator motor, then it might have a problem with grit accumulation on the commutator. If I were you, I would try disassembling the motor, cleaning all of the contacts inside and checking for any bad joints. If there is soldering inside then re-soler. HTH.
