Default 2005 Acura MDX

Any specific areas to watch out for on this model / year?

I like this one because it sits up higher the newer ones. Also I snagged this with less than 100k miles on it and interior, engine, seems in flawless shape. A creampuff in other words. Kind of a rare unicorn. I even got all (I mean every one) of the service records!

Any guidance on when to replace suspension parts (shocks etc)? Should I just go by mileage, or also go by age. (Seems to feel okay but I've never driven a new one).

Also looking for advice on tires for this too.

However the factory alarm seems to drain the battery down if not driven for a few weeks? (I know this is a picky issue but I do travel and I have another vehicle so I may not drive it for a few weeks at a time - don't remember having this issue with other vehicles. Yes, it is a new(er) battery.

At that age and mileage the following items usually fail in this order: radiator, AC pipes, battery, alternator, sway bar links and bushings, ball joints.
For struts go with the butt feel: if the car is bouncy, replace them. If she's tight, keep them. OEM struts are pricey, aftermarket struts are crap. So stick with the factory struts for as long as you can.
The factory alarm does not usually drain the battery - aftermarket alarms do. Check what you got and if it's aftermarket, then I would say just remove it altogether.
