I finished up tuning a customers car a little early today and we had time to throw my insight on the dyno for fun. I was actually pleasantly surprised for the age of the vehicle, no ima and essentially running in limp mode from removal of the ima battery.

The car put down just under 55whp and 56ft lbs. runs were done in second and also one in first gear which netted 50/50. The car has the mufler cut off the back, intake tubing removed just airbox with k&n. Also I have removed the ac lines, compressor is still in the same spot but I swear since removing the pressurized ac lines it's picked up power and fuel economy vs before. I've been planning on throwing an all motor d series into the car but lately I've been able to pull 75-80mpg on the freeway with ease and about 58-60 in town. Can't beat it for a gas only car. Makes me want to keep the inline three and fab a small turbo setup for it.

Love it... I can't believe the fuel economy is that spectacular considering that the powertrain/system is not functioning optimally. I need to find me one of these. ;)

Dude it's an awesome car. I really love it. I can't overstate how insane the handling is on it now since I've put stiffer springs on it and lowered it. And yeah I just got 200 miles out of about $9 in gas lol. Just got some different wheels for it mounted today. They changed the look allot of the car and I got them for retuning a customers car so no cash out of my pocket besides the dismount/ mount fee. Plus you can find them for cheap because the ima battery's go to crap and cost 2k to replace unless you do it yourself.

Same here. Found a cheap one but it's auto and I'm sure it is unbearably slow.

What springs did you end up using? Did you replace the shocks as well?

Horse's mouth.

I would NOT recommend the 425lb/in springs from Ground Control in their Insight kit. Your spine will get punched through your skull.

They were rear tien lowering springs from a Hyundai genisis, I got them for free from a guy on offerup. I cut them just about in half and ran two in the front and two in the rear. I would estimate the spring rate to be somewhere between 250-300lbs per inch. The front is about perfect the rear is a bit on the harsh side. The rear is also under dampened but I haven't changed to better shocks yet. The car will legitimately lift inside tire on hard left hand corners. Also just started on my d series swap. I have a post in the all motor sub section.
