hi everyone im new to honda-tech forums
im looking into getting a cr-z 6spd ex in the next month or two and i have a couple questions for you owners out there
1.) how comfortable is the cr-z for daily commute?
2.) what kinda mpgs are you getting in real life?

there aren't many cr-z owners on here, but the few that do have good opinions, try searching around a bit.

I bought my CR-Z es for my commute of about 22 miles each way.
I got the CVT automatic. I tested a 6 speed and didn't like the way it felt in eco mode (felt fine in normal and fun in sport mode) Also the CVT is rated better on fuel economy and I drive a truck and shift enough while at work.
I find it to be very comfortable. Warms up quickly although the heater vents could be routed better to warm the hands. Seemed like a lot of options for the price but I haven't bought a new car in a long time.
I've only put 1000 miles on mine so far and am averaging 38 MPG. which I expect to improve when the weather gets warmer.

I'm very happy with mine and haven't seen another one on the road here yet.

I bought my CR-Z in early September and love it so far. I use it as my daily drive vehicle. It was a bit of a learning curve for me coming from past vehicles to get the most from the hybrid. While it looks sporty it is definitely a hybrid at heart. It has more than enough power to handle any normal traffic situations like pulling out into quick moving traffic but you won't set speed records otherwise.

Getting adjusted to the car to maximize mpg has been fairly easy. I posted numbers below. In addition to the latest tank I am on now I will top 40 mpg average for the tank. With the right road / traffic conditions I can cruise at 65-70 and still get 38-40 mpg. The car mpg efficiency is greatly affected by the quality of the road and head/tail winds. I have the CVT transmission.

i make an hour up and back commute to college 3 days a week and my scion tc has been killing me in mpg (50+ mph range) which is most of my driving and my car is also lowered so im just hoping for something that doesnt break my spine when i hit potholes lol ;)

I will add my commutes are about 24 miles each way to and from work with the mileage I am getting. if you do longer commutes of mostly highway you will see improved mpg over what I average unless you have a lot of hills in the drive. I am in Texas so for the most part it is flat except for all the highway overpasses in Texas.

I have not done a long trip with it yet but based on what I see I am pretty sure I could get 45+ mpg easily. Experienced hybrid drivers claim they can get over 50 but my guess is that is very long drives over flat terrain.
