hi everyone. i just wanted to let you guys know the news. i have been talking with ksport about making a full coilover setup for the 1st gen insight and they are are already into developing this kit. i sent them the stock shock/spring assemblies about a month ago. i think they will be the first to offer an full adjustable coilover setup with shocks. as all insight owners know there is pretty much nothing out there available for shocks for these car, so finally there will be an affordable and better than oem option available. ill be updating this thread as i get news from ksport on the progress. just wanted to get the word out that these are on the way!

This project is apparently dead. Ground Control does have the spring sleeve set available for us Insight owners.

Why would you want to modify an insight though?

The same reason anyone would want to modify any car, because it isn't exactly how the owner wants it.

That aside, the specific reasons to want a 1G Insight for modification:
1) It's the lightest car you can buy less than 20 years old.
2) Hybrids are exempted from California smog checks.
3) HOV lane sticker
4) 70 MPG is a great starting point

First I would like to lower it maybe 1 inch all around to get slightly better aero which theoretically would improve my gas mileage. Plus the firmer springs would actually make it more fun to drive!

why would you want to put on some shitty coilover? eventually you gonna swap the OEM back on? waste of labor $$$$

ksports are good coilovers......better than buying the sleeves and struts separately... and they are not a shitty kit imho

hello everyone, sorry but ksport backed out a little bit ago, kinda sucks but what can ya do. i have been busy working on some other cars and forgot to update this thread. ground control has not yet started making their sleeve kits yet. i called them as soon as i heard from ksport and they told me they do not know for sure when they'll be available. so stock shocks n springs for now.
