KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
Heard king is doing a CRZ soon TRUE?
|
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
a mugen'd one?
If so, it's already been done |
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
I checked their website to see if there was anything about it. I didn't see anywhere that they were doing it, but they have all the Mugen CR-Z stuff advertised on the front page. It would be a great promotional tool for them, but I don't think it's something they do all the time. The only cars that stand out in my mind that they've had all decked out in Mugen parts is the s2000, the 1st gen CR-X, and possibly a couple of RSXs that they competed with in track events.

Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
King just posted a video of the Mugen exhaust on their CR-Z. :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcV6gsSdVwQ The vid compares the OEM exhaust to the Mugen exhaust. In-car and fly-by POV. Wisconsin open roads FTW! |
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
I was waiting for a stock 96 EX to fly by it.
|
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
an ex? hx sounds more appropriate.

Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ

Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
Isn't it cute how people are putting exhaust upgrades on 17 second cars?
|

Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
Mugen CR-Z = TITS!
Exhaust= Eh |
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
The tip is killing it for me more than anything else. It looks dumb and out of place. If it weren't labeled "Mugen" I am sure there would be more talk of this.
|
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
Seems like "mugen" is getting into the Styling area. Cause Bisimoto just killed everyone in performance.

Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
So ... a stock 92-00 Civic was around a 16 second car. You all seem pretty keen on upgrading those pieces of 15-year-old-shit.
It's not like the Bisimoto CR-Z is making over 500whp or anything ... way less than all your AWESOME EG's and EK's. |

The CR-Z looks painfully slow in that video :thud:

There is something about ricing a brand new car, and ricing a 15-20 year old Honda... Does this exhaust give any decent power gains? Probably not... Is the CR-Z designed with performance in mind? Yes, but it is at the back of the mind.... much like the CR-Z will be in a couple of months, probably. So even though the exhaust is Mugen leet-ness, it is still more rice. Just like the entire aero Mugen kit, useless weight adding to an already heavy vehicle... $200 towards an engine swap in an EF, EG, or EK? Well worth it, especially for a base model. Junk yard engines are worth around that. $200+ on a "performance" exhaust to make it sound better (but still relatively the same)? I think that might be called riced. Just would like to leave one last note, I like the concept of the CR-Z... Honda is like the Nintendo of the automotive industry, trying to appeal to a wide crowd with their casual/hardcore intuitive Wii console, only to have the harcore fans pissed at launch... couple of years later, they become content, and the intuitive technology is implemented by all other major manufacturers. It might have a bright future, but it has a dark present. |
Re: KING MOTORSPORT CRZ
You have to look at the cost of modding a car when they were new. Seriously, when I was in highschool, there was a guy with a 2000 Si with an ITR swap. Swap itself cost $10K, not including all the other shit he did to his car.
Now, you can get an ITR swap for half that. A GSR for half again. B16's for $1500. But back in the day, this was NOT the case. The CR-Z is the new CR-X. It's back to the roots of what the civic WAS. Not the pig they are now. Considering Honda's current fleet, the CR-Z is a featherweight. And Mugen has NEVER been 100% performance. They have a long long long history of making Aero parts and accessories, and exhausts with minimal performance gains. Just like ANY aftermarket exhaust on a stock motor, it doesn't do JACK SHIT except make it sound cooler. The CR-Z isn't different than any other Honda, and you're grasping at straws. |

I do believe the CRZ has a future, much like the beloved Wii. I know it's a terrible comparison, but you see what I am getting at. You raise a good point, I am too young to know what swaps were like when most of these cars first started production. Sorry brah. |
