Default Insight 5 lug disc rear conversion.

I have the time, means and desire (and a spare axle beam) to get rid of the 4x100-5x114 adapters in the rear and convert to 5 lug disc. I'm still in the R&D part of this but it looks very doable one way or another

Type R hub has a much larger ID and is deeper than what the Insight hub can support. Already put my Type R hub on the rear, was not going to be a easy bolt on thing so I skipped it.

Insight hub is something like 23mm and Type R is 30mm if I recall correctly.

Honda Fit uses the same torsion beam rear axle, just wider. I think those nut jobs figured out a 5 lug swap. Maybe swap the spindles from a Fit? I think there was a JDM Fit that got the 5x114.3 hubs or maybe they were swapping off the CR-Z. I gave up with the idea of AWD in my head.

Thanks for the tip, just happen to have a pair of 08 Fit rear hubs in my private junk collection and low and behold it's the right size, not only that there's already a kit for DC2 Integra so Type R is simple

Two things I'm looking at. First is should I "drop the spindle"? as it might help in the mounting as well as the lowering of the car since it is rather high, maybe 1-2"? I also have to line up the ABS sensor and might be better of sourcing one with a different shape if this one doesn't fit well.

I don't think I would add any more leverage to the spindle with a drop spindle. That rear torsion beam is too flexy already. Gets a weird mid corner harmonic bounce when loaded hard with the 23mm adapters on sticky rubber.

That fit spindle makes the Insight spindle look TINY!

BTW you WILL be posting some of the rear CRV set up as it comes right??? Im very curious about that as well, I have a 2wd Element and why not copy it's rear so when it's AWD time it's already ready already. Looking at CRV, Element or HRV and gonna have to deal with those side skirts once and for all.
