Insight 2019 question

Hello
I really like new insight 2019.
2 things that put me off
1. only 151hp
2. If I plan to own it for 9 to 10 years how will I be able to sell it since warranty will end sonce I live in California warranty for hybrid batteries is 10 years.
I'm worried irlt will ne hard to sell.
But I cpuld live with 151hp #2 issue is more I'm concerned with.
what you guys think?
thanks Robert

Re: Insight 2019 question

Its a an economy-centric hybrid... so 151hp should be in the wheel house of what's to be expected (actually, its on the high end). The Prius only has 121hp combined and that's the Insight's direct competitor.

If you look at current used markets for a 2008 Civic Hybrid (easiest to compare, since the Insight wasn't on the market in 2008), you're looking at $4500 - $5000 for a 150k mile car (which cost $22k - $25k new). If you're expecting to sell a car with any sort of warranty after 10 years, you are expecting a bit much.

Re: Insight 2019 question

Mileage is more of a concern than the battery.

How much are you driving?

Re: Insight 2019 question

In my experience (Prius) no it is not more expensive if you are used to servicing your vehicle at the dealership.

If the hybrid battery cells start failing, and you have to repair out of pocket, it's still cheaper than the gas money you'd spend for a different car, over the years of the battery life.
