Default Honda CRZ with SI Engine?

I know the Honda CRZ is not out yet, but does anyone out there know if the SI engine will swap into it? I would love to drive that around if it can be done.

The CRZ and 8th Gen Civic Si weight about the same, so it would feel pretty similar to driving a civic si.

It won't be popular with that kind of plan no. The Insight of which you speak was not a big seller either, which doesn't help. If Honda sells a ton of CRZ and doesn't change the design every 2 years I think the swap will be huge in 5 years or so

Yeah I highly doubt it's going to be popular. Just like the fact how the K20 Swap in civics, I remember .. when that came out a couple of years back that **** wasn't that popular right now everyones doing that swap.

couple years back lol, k swaps have been around for the better part of 7 years. Where have you been, reason why people stayed away from them was the price to do the swap. Even now its still expensive but lots of aftermarket support. Thats why there popular now, that and there killer engines. And the CRZ idea is stupid sounds like you just wanted to make a post to try and get some friends on here or something. This whole CRZ thread is a joke it needs to be takin off.

in my opinion the crz idea is great. like someone else stated as long as honda keeps it the same for a while and sells alot of them the price will drop very quickly on these cars and i my opinion the crz is the best looking car honda has come out with in the united states since the 2000 si coupe( besides the s2000).

I've not heard anyone done a swap on the Insight. So it's unlikely someone will do one for the CRZ.

I sure that companys would take this type of swap on just to show off some new products and It wouldn't matter to them if thay do have a faster $30K CRZ

The weights are about the same but alot of the CRZ's weight would come from the hybrid stuff which wouldn't be used in this kind of swap.

I dunno about 'lots of times'. It not something the average joe can do or even have done. Sure if you live in tampa you can pay an *** raping to have it done. But not many folks are going to buy a brand new crz and completely rape it for a k20. Its certainly nothing like putting a B in an ek...

What is the point? You are better off putting that engine in a Honda Fit since it is lighter.

Wait a few years when CRZs will be cheap.

Besides, as another said, who would waste their money to put a K20 in a civic? Well it's popular now...

In my other Subaru community, putting H6s (6 cylinders) in newer Subarus is becoming more popular.

Not too sure, but all electrics that link to the ecu to give the CR-Z 3 driving modes will need to be sorted out.

thats only because the Fit dosent have an entire extra means of propulsion. the batteries and electric motor crap weighs quite a bit. if you where to swap in a k20 all of that would be taken out.
