HELP! 2011 Insight (base model)

My wife has just purchased a 2011 Honda Insight. We have a 2004 CRV that we have been very happy with. I am out of the country (USA) for awhile and cannot see the car.

Can anyone tell me if Honda now makes Stability Control standard in the 2011 Insight (base) model as of 1 JUNE 2011? Is there a button in the car you press for this? It use to be an option that was only available in the EX LX version, I think.

I know in Europe Honda has made suspension changes because of this problem with previous models.

The reason I am asking is that I have seen this car reviewed without stability control and it does not recover very well at all when you have slipped on ice, need to avoid an object or make a sharp turn.

Can anyone confirm this and how well it has handled in these type of situations? Otherwise I am happy with her choice, very much so.

Thanks Patron for the help. I found some more info later that suggested Honda made this available on the base model.

Also, does this hybrid model allow for wider tires to be installed? Maybe for better traction and control. It is much lighter than the HHR she owned prior to this car.
