IMO, doesn't look that bad. def not worthy of all the bashing. probably wouldn't have gotten such bad feedback if you'd left out the part where you said "keep your negative comments to yourself".
that never seems to pan out well

Hey I thought it looked pretty good. Then I opened my eyes. Looks like something my 8 year old cousin would make on need for speed.
Agreed. I would've felt no need to respond if he wouldn't have said that.

It doesn't look that bad but the messed up rear quater throws off the attempt.
And is it me or does that thing look like a giant compared to the Eg Hatches...

Weighing in at 2670~2720 lbs (probably more given the size of those wheels), the CR-Z is definitely a bigger car than the EG. Crumple zones come at a cost.
I too, would like to know what's up with the damaged rear driver's quarter panel. With all the *cough* *cough* attention to detail, I'm surprised the OP didn't spend $100 to have a mobile paintless dent removal specialist iron that thing out.

Don't care for it but I doubt that your friend cared about my opinion when he built it. Just saying though, don't post something on the internet then tell people to refrain from making negative comments. You open yourself up by posting it and sound really whiny when you complain...If your friend likes it that's all that matters. Some trends and fads will come and go...personally I think it's a shame to see a new car ruined right off the bat but I didn't pay for it. How many neon Eclipses have you seen sitting in used car lots all riced out and no one will touch them? I remember back in the late 80s/early 90s everyone was cutting the springs on their compact pickups lowering them and slapping those paint splatter stickers on them...they couldn't give them away a few years later.
