I am going to wait a few years to buy one. I am going to wait for the day when we can replace the hybrid powertrain with a real engine. Plus a used one is going to be a lot cheaper.

I like some of the CRZ styling. I haven't liked a lot of the new styling on current models they have come out with, but I like the overall look of this one.
As long as it comes with a manual I'll be happy. I'm tired of seeing all automatic hybrids!

The original concept looked like ****, but the new one in the videos posted at the top of the page looks fantastic. You can really see the queues from the CRX.

this car is looking like a huge fail.....I hate to say it but honda left me with their product line. The fit is a joke, the civic is a accord and the accord is just a chevy imo. If you want a civic( small 2door hatch), you have to go to a mini showroom. If you want a civic si, get a mini cooper s and if you want a crx....get the new mini coupe....

Sorry, but if you want a small, light sporty hatchback, the cr-z is not going to be it imo.
Underhood will be a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to Honda's proprietary Integrated Motor Assist technology. Also on the menu will be a six-speed manual gearbox that will surely be a more entertaining partner for driving enthusiasts than the CVT used in the Insight hatchback.

The mini looks like something from 1992.
The only thing wrong with a small, 6 speed, sporty hybrid is that it is a little ahead of it's time for some people.

2800lb car + 140 hp does not = sporty......Have you forgotten the ep3? 2750lb + 160 hp = slow to everyone. The mini coupe s with the sub 2500lb weight + 175 turbo hp will most likly own the g stock autoX class and be the cheep ride to have for track days. Sorry, unless honda puts a real motor in that thing, its just going to be a joke imo.

Re: FINALLY I CAN TALK ABOUT THE CRZ!
this car is a hybrid not a street monster, and minis are as stupid as the new beetle anyway
140hp is peppy, the ep civic si didnt sell because it was priced over 20k, when they dropped the prices around 14-16k it sold fine...the crz is said to be in the 16k range, well worth the money in a 'sporty' hybrid imho although i would prefer a real motor in it. if you havent noticed by now honda is not a brand power obsessed and fi obsessed. they are about balance and driving feel.

Yes, the EP3 had more issues than a low hp/weight number. It's a failure on many levels.
I'm not sure why people are trying to shoehorn their exact desires into this car; it is what it is, not the next autox queen or the next great drag car. I think it's a pretty decent evolution in hybrids, nothing more.

What's the torque figure on that? Electric motors are quite torquey.

Re: FINALLY I CAN TALK ABOUT THE CRZ!
If, after a test drive, it's as fun to drive as my crx, I'm getting one. I have been waiting for the crx to come back to the states for years - and this seems like the closest we'll get to it.
Still getting 43 mpg, 20 years later!!

Nice!
I read that the CR-Z is going to have 140 hp. It should have been at least 175+ hp and slightly lighter. A Civic LX comes with 140 hp, lol
The Honda Fit is more practical, is very affordable, gets great MPG and it still looks 'sporty' even though it has 117 hp.
I just don't know how Honda is going to Price the CR-Z; with all the other fuel-efficient cars that they offer. Insight, Civic, Fit, Civic Hybrid.
I hope they'll come out with a CR-Z Sport, CR-Z Si or a CR-Z Mugen.
