Why so rare?
[rant]
A buddy of mine has been trying to get a White 5-speed Fit Sport for the past 3-4 months without any luck. I belive about 90% of Fits that we've come accross on dealer lots are Auto. On the rare occasion that we find a 5-speed, its usually a base.
We've asked a couple dealers if we could order a Fit and have been rejected. We're always told that they can't pick and choose.
Whats the deal?

Honda allocates cars based on sales. The Fit is a limited production vehicle, 10-12% are manuals. only 15 percent of your allocation of Fits can be manuals so if you can only order 2 a month you may only order 1 every 7 fits you order so 1 every 4 months. Larger dealrs that receive6-8 per month can order one every month. only 4200 manuals will be made this year I waited 4 months for my silver and i work at a large dealer.

Thanks for the helpful insight.
How can they allocate cars based on sales if they aren't offering enough to begin with?

You'd be surprised how small the amount of manual cars actually is... and I mean all cars. They knew they'd sell the autos much faster than the manuals.
I didn't have to wait at all for my white MT sport

Same for my Black MT Sport, first one to come to the dealership. Unclaimed, so I jumped all over it. Sat in the showroom until I drove it home. Not even test driven... guess I just got lucky.

Re: Why so rare? (Suk02Si)
ive search for a black 5spd sprt for like 5 months and came up empty.
even when i ordered my 5spd FG1, it took a while. average people want these gas saving cars with an auto tranny. so honda makes more of that.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by J.P. »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
