Suzuki Swift = rival to Fit?
I recently caught wind of a new Suzuki Swift being developed (maybe already on sale in Canada?). I went to the company website, and sure enough, there is a comprehensive description, including an interesting article on how the car was developed. Here's the website: http://www.globalsuzuki.com/swift/
It looks pretty good (european designed), although I'm worried it's a little on the small side size wise. Check it out if you're interested.
Please note, this is NOT the Swift+ AKA Aveo/Wave crapbox, but a whole different car

Yeah, I read that as well. That SX4 thing looks like crap compared to the regular new swift. I bet Suzuki will try to put in some (relatively) big unefficient engine in it, and try to sell it at around 16k. That's what happened to the Aerio (in Europe the Aerio has a 1.6 and gets pretty good mpg). I hate how the smaller engines (and diesels) are ommited from the US market, just because some power hungry slob won't like it.

Wow, you guys are just getting that? We have had the new Swift+ for three or four years now, must be near the end of it's model cycle.
You 'mericans really get the shaft on sub-compacts don't you..but you guys buy LOTS of Malibu's ha ha ha.
The Swift is also sold as a Chevy Aveo up here, there is also a Pontiac version, but I can't remeber what it's called.
Hell, we have also had the Echo/Yaris for 6 or 7 years already as well.

Re: (MABDOHC)
The SX4 is the Aerio replacement and will be Suzuki's entrant into the B-segment of cars in the U.S. So, therefore, it will be a Fit compeititor.
From what I understand, it'll be a fairly powerful (140+ hp) engine. Of course, powerful in regards to other cars in its class.

I was a 16 year old kid when the 1990 Swift GT was revving its way around the US. I wanted one then. If the new Swift is true to the original, I may look deeper.
