super charged fit?
 

hey does any one have a super charged fit? whats the numbers? how is it what kind of super charger is it ?

If the whp gains are consistent as they are with other Hondas, specifically the single cams, I would be surprised if it made more than 145-150 whp at 7-9 psi on a blower like the JRSC. Somewhere in the 40-50% increase, and the stock Fit makes around 95 whp stock.

You should be able to up the boost and make some more power with a different pulley, but superchargers generate heat, and which cannot be cooled very efficiently. Since the supercharger sits on the head, this is not a good thing.

Superchargers are better suited for larger displacement engines.

If you are going to go FI, turbo is the best bet. You will see better gains, and it will be more efficient. Though, I don't know the limitations of the Fit's engine, but many Honda engines can handle a 100% increase in power, though like always the key to reliability is in the tune.

Kraftwerks/Jackson Racing makes a Rotrex based kit.

Looks promising. No serious hp has been made but that does not mean the car will not be fun to drive.

I have seen the Rotrex superchargers make some pretty good numbers on other platforms.

Those supercharger kits are carb pending too. Good news if you live in CA.

That was on a built engine, though they did not elaborate on what "built" means, but that is a serious hunk of change if it was sleeved; and more for a built head. Even if was a simple piston and rod bottom end build that is still a good amount of money, even more for those who cannot do the labor. When I built my old D16 it got expensive.

We do not know the psi the supercharger was running, if it was on pump gas, and what all was done to the engine. For the money it would take to do what was done to that Fit, I would rather swap a K in there and make more power n/a and have it be reliable.

You are right though. Who would not want K series power. The cost for a swap is in a whole other ball park though.
The L engine will never hit K numbers with similar mods. It's the same as the B vs. D debate.

Once tuners get more comfortable with these engines, numbers will rise. I am pretty sure the Fit will be very fun to drive @ 170hp. My Civic SiR had that kind of power. It was a blast to drive and could peg the speedometer no problem.

One of the great things about the Rotrex kit is that it can be installed (by anyone with average mechanical skill) and driven. No special tuning, modifications or tools needed.

The kit makes way less power than a stock K. It also costs much less and requires way less work to install. Time will only tell how reliable they are but rotrex kits have proven themselves in other apps.

This kit will be the easy ticket to giving your Fit a nice kick and still retain good mpg numbers (provided you are not always in boost) and reliability.

With header and exhaust you should be pushing close to 150 WHP with the supercharger and Hondata. The K series is not the easy swap that the old B16/B18s were. It is major work and there are no headers made currently for a K swap into a fit. A stock Si motor is around 165 WHP if i remember correctly. Spoon did one and abandon the project as the extra weight put a major hinderence on the handleing of the car.

It comes down to 4-5k for a turbo/SC or 7-8k for a swap.

please elaborate on this, which SI motor are you referring to? the new one? if so is it not like all the other k motors?

what are you trying to say here? stevens24 is talking about WHP... i still wanna know which SI engine he is referring to though...

My buddy is putting down around 155 to the wheel with stock injectors on his kraftweks kit. I am not sure what psi though

Wow, nice hp on the stock injectors. I'm trying to get into King Motorsports this week or next to get a dyno. Got the KWSC 5# kit. Weapon*R street header and muffler delete. Everything else stock (with regards to engine).

KWSC = definitely quicker but I have random issues with WOT vs moderate gas pedal depression. To the floor seems to lag while inching down on the accelerator yields the best acceleration. I'll update as i figure/find things out.
