Default Shift Boot Options for 5-speed Fit.

Hello,

I recently picked up a White '07 Fit sport 5-speed.

I'm not particularly crazy about the accordion style shift boot, and am wondering if there are any companies that have good quality boots that will fit in the stock bezel.

I started trying to take off the accordion boot, but ripped one of the little tabs and got discouraged.

Thanks in advance!

Mike.

if you dont care if you break the tabs off the OEM boot you can just pull it, otherwise yes you have to remove the console

I like the old-school-econocar accordian boot. Reminds me of my dad's Russian Zaporozhets and our 77 Corolla.

You're right, it's not really that bad; but I've had my fill of accordion boots from 80's VW's. Now I'd like something a bit nicer.

As for the replies above: Are any of those other boots a direct fit? Or will I have to do some modding to get the base to stay in the bezel?

Does the grey bezel ring seperate from the console? If so, how? I couldn't tell when I went feeling around underneath there...
