New 2012 Automatic Fit (base model) questions.
I'm getting used to my new Fit, but a couple of questions arise, that hopefully somebody can answer for me:
1. There is a little 2"x2" device with wires coming out of it attached to my dash just to the right of and slightly above the interior fuse box. What is this thing!?
2. My transmission is an automatic, with D D3, 2, 1 positions on the selector. My owner's manual is kind of confusing about when it's necessary to depress the shift button when changing into these various gear positions. Would it be okay to simply ALWAYS press the shift button when changing into ANY gear? It would make it much easier and less confusing, but then again, I don't want to hurt the transmission. Thanks for any help. Grace.

Re: New 2012 Automatic Fit (base model) questions.
In regards to #2.
Yes, you can certainly always push the button. If you want to know when you do and don't need to, it's very simple, if you can move it without pushing the button, you didn't need to.
