Installing Cruise Control
A coworker just bought a new Fit and during the buying process the salesman told him the car had cruise control. The car was for his wife so she was the one driving it. After a week or so she wanted to use the cruise but didn't know where the controls were. He couldn't find the controls either and after checking the owners manual he could tell the car did not have it.
After talking with the dealership they said only the sport package has cruise control and they were very sorry. The dealership said it was impossible to install cruise control on a non-cruise control car (because of the "drive-by-wire"). The dealership did say if Honda ever makes an install kit they would install it for free.
I told him it sound like a bunch of BS, but I would post up the question to you guys. The only way I can believe what the dealership said is if the wiring for cruise is so ingrained in the wiring harness they would have to strip the car to do the install. Does anyone have knowledge on if what the dealership is saying is true?

Re: Installing Cruise Control (1990crxsir)
the only help i can give you is yes, the sport is the only one to have cruise control. it is not an option for base models.

some carsalesmen are just ******. i know a fair share of guys that have screwed people.
at the same time i know a few other guys that are honest and really get annoyed with the first type of salesman.
but yea, i heard the same thing and that was the determining factor for buying a sport and not the base model, but now the cruise is acting a little flakey...
