I'm working on my wife's 2013 Honda Fit's AC. It cools the car a little bit on cooler days but when it gets really hot outside, I.E. above ninety, we start to sweat in the car. I'm hoping it is just low on refrigerant but I want to be sure before I attempt to do any work on the car. I bought a cheapo ac recharge kit with the low side pressure gauge, and I get a pressure reading of a little under 45 PSI with an outside air temperature of 86. The compressor is engaged constantly, and the low side pressure doesn't move, it just stays around 45 after the car has been running for a few seconds. I haven't done any work to the car yet, and I am looking to confirm that it is just low on refrigerant. I was ASE certified for ac systems ten years ago but even then,I only worked on Semi Tractors. Is it safe to charge the ac and see if it cools the car? The pressure looks a little low to me but the compressor running all of the time seems strange since the common sign of low ac is a compressor that cycles constantly. Thanks

Better find the leak first that missing refrigerant didn't just evaporate.
