Service Bulletin

I recently found a service bulletin for the window wipers. My front wipers would chatter when I used them during the rain. I took it to the dealer and he confirmed there was a bulletin. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Apparently a lot of people over at FitFreak.net are having issues with paint quality, or lack thereof. Apparently the paint is peeling off near the mounting points on the front and rear bumpers, and some people are complaining of excessive paint chipping on their hood and front bumper. Most of the dealers have been helpful, and repainted the peeling areas free of charge, however, no recall has been made as of yet.

I don't think the paint is peeling more like the bumper and fender is rubbing causing the paint to break.

Yeah, some people were putting nylon washers where it is supposedly rubbing. What worries me more is the people who took the cars on trips, and when washing the bugs off the car with a no-touch pressure washer, ended up getting chipped paint because of BUGS. http://images.honda-tech.com/set1//smile/emcrook.gif

I still want a Fit, but I suppose some 3M clear paint protector stuff would be a worthy investment.

Well I hope it's the earlier fits that does all this. But yeah I would invest in 3M clear bra if you're worried, cause I'm trying to get mine done.

PROBABLE CAUSE
The ECM/PCM is misinterpreting the FTP sensor input.
CORRECTIVE ACTION

• If the VSS is less than 5 mph, use the HDS with
software version 2.005.008 (or later) to update the
ECM/PCM PGM-FI software.
• If the VSS is more than 5 mph, continue with normal

what the hell does that last one mean?

EDIT: Im sure others are wondering the same thing. Just want to know what the problem is and if some of us are effected by it.

yummyazngrl 04-11-2007 01:13 PM

Re: Re: (matt7277)

in lamens terms, it pretty much means that your vechicle is throwing Check Engine with that code for your fuel tank pressue sensor which has to do with your emissions/evap system.

I also noticed noises/ rattling from my dash. Anyone else have this problem?

1RMDave 04-17-2007 09:01 PM

I am a dealer tech. so i do these recalls. Basically for the dtc and srs one we hook it up to the computer (pc) using a "transfer unit" and just reprogram the srs unit or the ecm. It really doesn't take any time. On a side note I'd like to add I think the Fit is Honda's best car right now.

eL 04-17-2007 09:05 PM

Do any of your Fits feel weird when they're cold? My car feels so different when its cold [before being fully warmed up].

Its almost impossible for me to drive smoothly. Anyone experience anything like this?

PEZZPUNK8666 04-18-2007 09:27 AM

Re: (eL)

My Fit always feels like the wheels need balancing when its cold at first, but after a few minutes it smooths back out. I figure its just flat-spotting on the tires from it sitting overnight.

eL 04-18-2007 02:05 PM

I'm talking about a bucking feeling when accelerating in 1st from a dead stop.

007FIT 04-23-2007 08:21 AM

yea ive had that problem it feel like theres no power and then it comes in

eL 04-24-2007 08:19 AM

It feels like someone who's letting the clutch out way too fast... but that's not whats happening.

All factory finishes have some sort of orange peel, some companies more than others. If you look hard enough you can even find dirt nibs, sags, or runs right from the factory. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I noticed today that when shifting into each gear at a lower rpm, it feels like something it pulling or grabbing then releasing. Something weird. I only have 500 miles on the car too

I wonder if you're talking about the same thing I've been experiencing for a while.

When going from 1st to 2nd, sometimes it feels like when I push the clutch pedal down then shift out of 1st, the shifter feels like its popping out into 2nd on its own.

dank24 05-03-2007 06:05 PM

hmm, maybe that was it. its hard to explain, but it came out of no where.

Problems with my 2007 Fit:
wipers make hard noise even with a lot of water in it
easy to be dented door panels
Paint in hood and bumpers seems too be thin
Passenger seat is very hard to slide front and back
when going uphill, its kind of lazy and reacts late to downshift to 1st gear (Sport A/t)
also feels weird when in a hurry drive it before the C(cold) symbol goes off
